FEIG Electronics Releases the ID ANT.MUX.5: State-of-the-Art 5-Channel Multiplexers for HF RFID Readers

Duluth, Georgia – August 10, 2023 – FEIG Electronics, a global leader in the supply of RFID readers and antennas, is thrilled to unveil its latest breakthrough products, the MUX.5 series. 

The MUX.5 series is comprised of two five-channel multiplexers, the ID ANT.MUX.5 housed version and the module variant ID ANT.MUX.M5 without housing. These multiplexers enable seamless and rapid switching between RFID antennas operating at 13.56 MHz, expanding the single output of the RFID reader to up to five antenna outputs.

The ANT.MUX.5 empowers users to operate from 8 to 20 antennas using just one reader. When paired with the Long Range Reader ID LR5400, the number of antenna outputs can expand to a maximum of 20. By leveraging the automatic mode control of the ID LR(M)5400 reader, the MUX.5 ensures the fastest possible switching between RFID antennas, enhancing operational efficiency.

An exciting feature of the MUX.5 series is its user-friendly installation process, requiring minimal cabling effort. By controlling the multiplexer through a command from the reader via the antenna line, additional connections to the multiplexer are unnecessary. Furthermore, the firmware integration between the multiplexer and the RFID reader facilitates fast and precise addressing of each connected antenna.
