This week at Retail’s Big Show 2015, the annual National Retail Federation (NRF) convention in New York City, FEIG Electronics generated excitement as part of a retail display with TabletArmor, a stand-alone enclosure that transforms an ordinary tablet into a stationary work station, kiosk or point-of-sale (POS) terminal. The specially designed enclosure allows users to insert a tablet into the chic protective casing and attach peripherals and mounts as needed.
FEIG’s USB-compatible CPR44.02 Reader module was plugged into the TabletArmor system to demonstrate support for a variety of near field communications (NFC) applications, including ePayment, ticketing and public transport systems. Equipped with four security access module (SAM) sockets, the FEIG reader module from the OBID® classic-pro product family can be easily integrated into the TabletArmor terminal or handheld devices.
Attendees at the NRF show noted that the combination of FEIG’s secure reader module and the TabletArmor enclosure is ideal for a wide range of applications, such as POS terminals, E-ordering, digital catalogs & menus, interactive tour guides, self-ordering and attendance tracking.
